If this is your first massage with me, here’s what you can expect.
Before your appointment, you’ll receive a brief online intake form to complete. This helps me understand your health history and what you’d like to focus on during your session.
When you arrive, we’ll take a few minutes to talk about what’s going on, what you’d like worked on, and what kind of pressure you prefer. You’ll also have the option to choose an essential oil if you’d like.
If you’re coming from a physically demanding or active day, I do recommend showering beforehand so you can fully relax and get the most out of your session.
You’ll then be given privacy to undress to your level of comfort. Most people undress completely, some leave on underwear—either way is perfectly fine. I will always keep you properly covered, and only the area I’m working on will be uncovered at any given time.
Your session may include hot stones, hot towels, or other techniques as appropriate to help you relax and get the most out of your massage.
I’ve been a massage therapist for over 23 years and have worked with people of all ages, body types, and concerns, so you’re in experienced hands.
During the session, I’ll check in once or twice to make sure the pressure is right. Everyone experiences pressure differently, so feel free to speak up at any time—I’m a massage therapist, not a mind reader. ;-)
Conversation during your session is always up to you. Some people like to chat, others prefer a quiet massage—I’ll follow your lead. Just don’t forget to let me know if you’d like the pressure adjusted.
The goal is simple: for you to feel comfortable during your session and leave feeling better than when you walked in.
